Established in 1879 - Colorado's oldest scenic line combines Colorado history, spectacular scenery, service and dining options on the train that takes you through the Royal Gorge. Ride The Historic Rails Through the The Royal Gorge Route Railroad offers the best experience of the Royal Gorge on a breathtaking, 2-hour scenic and historic train ride on the most famous portion of the former Denver & Rio Grande Western train line. All passengers have access to one of our open-air observation cars for the best views of the Royal Gorge.
